What kind of websites were you planning to build?
I'm using Sandvox to create the web pages for my indie Mac developer project at: NocturnalAviationSoftware.com to promote my developer tool, FCode.
How did you hear about Sandvox?
Dan Wood is well known in Mac developer circles, so when Sandvox was originally launched it got a lot of tech press. I remembered that for future reference.
What made you decide to get Sandvox?
I've written web sites by hand, and with iWeb. Since my layout skills are not great, and iWeb is going away, I looked for alternatives for my new site. After reading reviews of many products, including user reviews, I tried the Sandvox demo version. The templates were great looking and within minutes I had the outline of a web site I thought looked great. I could swap the look of the site easily by changing the template. I bought Sandvox right away.
Now that you have Sandvox, what do you like about it?
The templates are excellent. The way Sandvox works, you add your content and then can switch the templates to get a site that is laid out the way you like. I did this many times before I found the look I wanted. It was actually fun. Once you realize that with Sandvox you can only add things that the template allows, and where it allows it, you can effortlessly build a great, professional looking site. Great for those of us without artistic talent!
What would be a good way to search for a program like Sandvox?
Nocturnal Aviation Software
“I pretty much added the standard things. Sandvox has all of the parts I needed - Basic pages, sidebars, blog, screeenshot management (collection) that made it easy to make the site. It took nothing special on my part - and this is the hallmark of great software!”
