What kind of websites were you planning to build?

After completely falling in love with shooting and editing video soon after I began late 2008, I yearned to try and make a business of it. Ideally I wanted to make movies but soon after word got out I found myself instead shooting more and more local bands who needed higher quality online representation. After a while, I found it hard to break away, not just due to the added income but the constant opportunities of learning to frame shots quickly, becoming better and better at editing (aka 'paid practice'), as well as refining lighting and audio skills. Word of mouth became a solid and free marketing tool along the way, as well.

Eventually this branched out into other areas: music videos, interviews, commercials, how-to's and yes, some movie attempts(with now upwards of 570 videos online). I only recently took the plunge to further expand my horizons with my own website, which was designed thru Sandvox.
Not yet finding my real niche, I wanted a website that kept all these doors open, and the result was a clean yet multi-faceted site. For my first one, I was about as pleased as I could be in combining that versatility within a simple design.

How did you hear about Sandvox?

In my search for a website builder, I Googled and read lots of reviews and feedback. The Sandvox name kept coming up favorably so I took that as a "sign" to select them for my provider.

What made you decide to get Sandvox?

People can put and say anything on the web, but when I saw nothing but positive responses about Sandvox in searching for a website builder no matter where I looked, it seemed ridiculous to look any further. I was very happy with that decision.

Now that you have Sandvox, what do you like about it?

After opening the Sandvox program and practically being able to design my entire site with only what lay in front of me and a couple of their 'Help' links within the program, I found out how to easily add any media, make live links, and direct any word in my text to another page on the site, as well as off.

It really was a joy to create my site, and easy to try different things quickly. Needless to say I was very pleased with the ease of use, the final outcome, and even in making changes after the fact. These had me a little concerned initially, but ended up exceeding my expectation 1,000-fold. It's almost TOO easy!

What would be a good way to search for a program like Sandvox?

“Without going into a lot of detail, the catalyst for my inspiration to begin a career in video-production came about thru death and departure, with my mother passing away in 2005 and my girlfriend going to Iraq in 2008. I needed to fill my head with something new and creative; video was it. I am so...”
