Describe your website.

Alabama EARS is a non-profit 501 (C) organization. We are dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for domestic rabbits, and educating about proper rabbit care and behavior. Our volunteers are paid only in the love of grateful bunnies.

The House Rabbit Society believes that ALL rabbits are valuable as individuals, regardless of breed purity, temperament, state of health, or relationship to humans. The welfare of all rabbits is our primary consideration.

Who is the target audience for your website?

Someone who has a rabbit or is thinking about getting a rabbit and is interested in how to properly care for her. We cover everything from diet and exercise, to the importance of spay and neuter and how to litterbox train your rabbit. Although we primarily serve the state of Alabama, we are a chapter of the national House Rabbit Society and answer questions from all over. We also have a strong rescue and foster program for domestic rabbits in which we find loving, forever homes for abandoned rabbits.

Tell us a story about this website.

In addition to solving issues we had with displaying photos and the need for (sometimes) immediate changes to our site, just the overall enthusiasm of our members have been wonderful. We know we have a website that our visitors enjoy which means they will come back to us for more information on how to make the lives of their house rabbits even better. And that is why we volunteer!

Why did you use this Sandvox design?

Because we wanted a banner at the top of every single page that shows the reasons we volunteer. Those are all bunnies who have been abandoned and brought in by our Fostering Director. We also wanted a sort of column looking website and this was the best template that appealed to our audience--it has to be nice balance between business and warm-and-fuzzy.
