Describe your website.
This website contains the text and the video demonstration of the groundbreaking analysis of the mechanical function of the cardiovascular system by cardiac surgery pioneer, Robert M. Anderson, as well as additional resources and information about the author.
Who is the target audience for your website?
This website would be of most interest to physiology and medical school professors and students, cardiovascular researchers, biomechanical engineers, and cardiac surgeons.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
The website provides an explanation of basic cardiovascular function and the determinants of circulation rate that is both simpler and more genuinely predictive of cardiac cause and effect than the conventional approach still used in most physiology textbooks.
Tell us a story about this website.
The website is an updated redesign of content that was located at a different URL for over a decade, and garnered nearly three-quarters of a million visits, and numerous requests from teachers for copies of the video now presented online. Unfortunately, the prior URL inadvertently lapsed, and was snapped up by an unscrupulous Romanian company who has been using our prior search engine ranking to route traffic to German advertisers.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
I chose the Aurora Palace design for its unobtrusive, professional background, rounded accent corners, and bold sidebar design.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
I opted not to use the title text at the top of the pages, but instead designed a graphic banner including that verbiage (which I rendered monochromatically and then colorized and played with the hue until it matched the general feel of the background).
