Describe your website.
My website is designed as my own consultancy and training site offering quality cultural competency training for an affordable price. This training is based on my experience as an anthropologist. My goal is to continue to expand the number of training offered to include many more culture groups and ethnicities- an around the world offering.
Who is the target audience for your website?
My site has multiple target audiences for each cultural training I offer, but in general, it targets small business, travelers, and non-profits. I offer general cultural competency training, as well as those targeted for educators, medical practitioners, and individuals working with different culture and ethnic populations. My research and writing has focused on working in Arab/Muslim where there is currently so much misunderstanding. I have a dream of traveling around the world and as I do adding training about each culture I encounter. A I do, my target audience should grow.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
Too much of the cultural competency training is based on trying to rate culture on some sort of scale or on a list of dos and don'ts. That's not how you acquire real, deep cultural competency- and you can't get deep competency from one training. My cultural competency training is based on teaching how you get to that deeper understanding of another culture and what homework and basic skills you need. It's about using my 7As approach to empower and built competency.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
I tried out a number of designs before I settled on my current design. I was looking for a professional look and one that would allow me to put up a great deal of information in a small space and would match my business logo. Hassoun means goldfinch in Arabic (its a little bird and its not dangerous) - so I needed someplace the logo would feel at home.
