Sandvox Website Profile: “Dawn Sutherland Fine Art”

Although I feature landscape paintings of the Southwest, I also feature pet portraits, a monthly hike called "Take a Hike" and a blog, Wet Paint.

Of course, I want to sell paintings, but I also enjoy introducing viewers and visitors to the great hiking and scenery that I love so much.

People who are interested in my website tend to be art collectors, and travelers who enjoy the Southwest. I believe there is a broad age range of readership, but perhaps the median age is 55, equally male and female.

I keep the tone and verbiage on my website lively and interesting. I believe featuring area hiking opportunities is a strong draw, for both those who live in the area, and for those who've visited here and wish to see more.

In addition, I list painting prices on the website so prospective buyers know at a glance what I charge.

My old website got me some amazing sales. I haven't had this one long enough for that to happen. I'll tell you when it does.

I was using iWeb until recently. Not very swift in web design, I needed something that would be intuitive, easy and also work well for those who visit my site. After some research and talking with various web designers, I came to the conclusion that Sandvox would be a fine fit for my abilities. I spent 6 hours redesigning my site and had it on the Web again by the end of the day. I must also say that the folks at the Karelia help desk are very responsive!

I like to feature one painting in a larger format at the top of each page, then follow that with the thumbnails.
