Describe your website.

Our website is there to show people how to live off the grid and to help those who want to grid tie.
It's all about being self-sufficient and living a basic life.
We show on YouTube videos how we do things and on the website type up information to help others.
It's just our way of life and we share it with those who are interested.

Who is the target audience for your website?

Off-grid people, homesteaders, simple living, tiny cabin, tiny homes

What is the advantage of your website over others?

Its real, not a reality site.

Tell us a story about this website.

In late 2011, we started thinking about our future and retirement. We decided that we did not want to have to pay standard house utility bills so our retirement funds would go further. In doing so we looked back at how our grandparents lived a simpler life before running water and electricity. We found this a good start to base our life style on, but wanted some modern day conveniences. So we found land, a simple structure to make a home out of and powered it with solar and wind power. We collect rain water or haul water in for our needs. We collect our grey water for use on plants and trees and have no black water since we use a composting toilet. We have gone off the grid. We are NOT Green living people, we just live life very efficiently and have self-sustaining power.

Why did you use this Sandvox design?

Just liked it.

What techniques did you use to build this website?

Just winged it and learned as I went.
