Describe your website.

Personal stuff, things I have seen and done. I enjoy traveling, taking pictures and movies. Spend countless of hours editing when I get back home. So I like to have a place to collect and show the best of them. With all the online services to upload, I need a place to collect them all.

I tinker with many different things and I try to document some of that on my page too. I make a point of not mixing my real work with my personal stuff so I keep work related things out.

I would like to host my videos myself too, so I don't have to depend on YouTube. It seems like the time is getting closer where that is possible, due to standardizations in supported video in browsers and the increase of bandwidth.

Who is the target audience for your website?

I have absolutely no idea if it is of interest to anyone what so ever. :) I create the things on my site because I am having fun doing it. Google analytics describes my visitors as "technophiles", which might not be all wrong since I like to describe how I solve different technical stuff from pinball repair to my heating system, generating time-lapse movies or how I monitor my solar power installation. Although the most conversations I have with people are those who want to buy my domain. But I am not interested in selling.

Tell us a story about this website.

Nope, sorry no killer stories yet. I have had a few asking me how I created the website and they liked how it looked. So I directed them to the Sandvox site.

Why did you use this Sandvox design?

I really wanted a modern design that you see right now that fills the entire width of the page. While that is not currently possible with the available templates, this one comes close. I like the pictures, movies and text to be the focus of the site and the design should just support it, not take over.

What techniques did you use to build this website?

For my welcome page, I have been trying to use HTML code for YouTube so that I could choose the parameters myself and get it to stream in HD as default. Would be sweet if some YouTube parameters could be check boxes in the Inspector.
