Describe your website.

My website informs people about the one week courses in self sufficient living that our new informal school Provision gives. It tells what it is (one week smallholding/homesteading courses in transylvania), who the teachers are (all practicing a form of self-reliant subsistence farming), why we opened Provision (we belief in a truly sustainable world through a simpler way of living) and where we are located (the carpathian mountains of Transylvania, Romania).

Who is the target audience for your website?

Interested people in our website are among others:
smallholding enthusiasts, homesteaders, purposeful travelers, searchers for 'the good life', those interested in Transylvanian culture and customs, people who want to experience and learn from the traditional self sufficient way of life which is still practiced in our corner of Europe, people who want to travel to Transylvania and get in deeper contact with the local rural culture.

What is the advantage of your website over others?

In choosing to travel to Transylvania in order to follow our one week courses in self sufficient living, one offers oneself the chance to step into a different world. This is the last stronghold of ecological, self-sufficient peasant culture in all of Europe. One can witness the architecture of sustainability in a land where centuries of traditional life is still exists, within reach.

Tell us a story about this website.

a fun reaction of a friend that I got: "your website has filled me with nostalgia- you make romania look like a dream land. the courses your doing look great- what spurred you on to start them up? did you finish work on your house, pickle everything you can possibly pickle and find yourselves in need of something to do? or are you just trying to spread the knowledge."

Why did you use this Sandvox design?

Our courses have everything to do with nature, ecological living, sustainability: so the color green was an easy choice. We live and promote simple living, back to the land movement, taking care of ones own provisions. The design that we chose fits this purpose well: simple, beautiful, to the point and last but not least, no loss of energy toward unnecessary distraction. It feels very personal to our new project already.
