Our website is designed to keep our members and visitors informed about club activities and issues important to all who enjoy the the search for gold. As Robert Service said, and I paraphrase, "... it is not so much having the gold as finding the gold." The homepage is a welcome to all who visit and state our common purpose. Other main pages include meeting mimutes, activities and special issues of interest, a for-sale page, photos, links to other key sites, a special page for downloads and videos, and a contacts page.
Who is the target audience for your website?
This site was built to keep our members informed on the club activities. The target audience is the current a potential membership. We have no dues and anyone can become a member. There are no gender or age restrictions. Our membership consists of families, singles, young and old. All members seem to have at least two interests in common: digging dirt and enjoying the great Alaskan outdoors.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
I'm not sure why this particular Sandvox design was appealing to me. After trying all of the options available, these colors and format seemed to convey the feeling of club's purpose. I was actually looking for a more rustic, vintage, design that might fit a "49'er" historical theme. I settled on this design and style because the colors seemed to fit the prospecting theme as well as earthy outdoor tones.
