Tell us a story about this website.
In 1986 I took group to Rome and daily bought picnic lunches from a grocer on Viale Aventino. I spend a substantial amount of money each day. During the second week the Italian shopkeeper said that his wife wanted to invite my wife and myself for an evening meal. We went with great trepidation: getting by in a foreign language in shops and the like is not the same as spending a couple of hours in a family home. Imagine my surprise when the wife greeted us at the door of their flat and said "How nice to see some English people" - she was from Deal in Kent, having gone to Rome to study Italian in her 20s, married and stayer there, having now an Italian husband and four children!
