Describe your website.
The support program in Catholic dioceses is called the "Mission Cooperative". It is usually administered by the Office for the Propagation of the Faith. One page of the site contains background information on the Passionist Missions...Download: Missions. A second page contains the biographical information and photos of the Passionist preachers...Download: Preachers.
Who is the target audience for your website?
The site is intended to cut down on the pre-printing, inventory, and mailing of the same mission background and mission preacher biography to each of the participating parishes.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
I am not aware of any similar websites. Since the determination of which missionary societies will take part in the local program from year to year is in the hands of the diocese, there is no competition, in the usual sense of the word.
Tell us a story about this website.
Because our website includes both the biography and the photo of the missionary preacher, it is always a pleasure to find both elements incorporated into a parish bulletin announcement when the missionary arrives in the parish.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
I needed a simple design that would imply a missionary outreach in a foreign country. Passionist Missionaries are active in sub-Saharan Africa, and I felt this particular template suggested the African savannah.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
The main pagelet I needed was to build editable links (documents to download; photos and biographies to download).
