Describe your website.
Our site contains the history and hopes of Eugene, Oregon's Human Rights City Project. It is an unofficial site of the Human Rights Program, but also contains news and events of other organizations in Eugene.
Who is the target audience for your website?
Throughout the USA, cities are starting Human Rights City Projects, and we aim to be a resource for them, as well as anyone who is interested in human rights.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
It was decided that we would use the dark blue template Aurora Palace Blue. It offered what we wanted, including a deep color that hopefully would catch someone's eye and encourage them to stick around and read what we have regarding human rights.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
I moved over from iWeb and found the transition process pretty easy, thankfully. I love the custom banners, in that I am an amateur photographer and I was able to photograph a local memorial statue, turn it to black and white, then crop and use as a banner.
One of my previous problems with iWeb was my constant use of the blank page...after awhile the site got really bloated. So I found it interesting that keeping strictly to the template had us ending up with a very focused and "clean" site.
