Describe your website.
My website is designed to offer information regarding the life and art of Gustav Klimt. You can find out about Gustav Klimt and also visit our Klimt art guide and posters section for more details information about key artwork like The Kiss and The Tree of Life where you can also purchase these works as posters or art prints.
Who is the target audience for your website?
This site if for people who are looking to find out more about Gustav Klimt and his art as well as those who are looking for poster or print to buy. Ideal for art-lovers and even interior decorators looking for that perfect image for the wall.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
I like to think that the site offers something extra to similar sites. Now and as the site develops a key part of the project is to give information about the artwork not just sell the poster. I'd like to think that it will to some degree help educate some buyers about the artwork they are purchasing and therefore enrich the enjoyment of their new purchase. I even advise where the original is housed so they might even take a trip to see it sometime.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
I chose Cirrus for this website because of its clean yet stylish presentation. I didn't want anything too overwhelming as the content of the site includes some striking images which really should be the focus of any visit to the site. Yet Cirrus still manages to offer a very professional look without being clumsy or overbearing.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
I'm still finding my way around Sandvox so I haven't been too adventurous with it yet only using simple addition of raw HTML. I've started looking injecting code and will get to this and give any hints or tips with the information about those sites.
