The purpose of the website is to educate people about the impact of oral health on overall health. We use Sandvox's technology to inform visitors through a Frequently Asked Questions database and the GraberDoc blog, which features the latest dental research. We also include maps, directions, a photo tour and testimonials to encourage people to give our office a try.

The target demographic is people of all ages who live or work near the Huntington area of Shelton, Connecticut, where our office is located. We accept insurance and Medicaid as well as private payments to make our talent and technology accessible to the vast majority of patients.

The competitive advantage of this site is that it can be updated so frequently. Most dentists outsource Web design and never add or edit the information. This site includes a blog with the latest dental research, for example.

Last week, someone proactively contacted my husband wanting to work for him based on his Web site. Today, we got an email from an oral cancer organization asking us to link to their information. "I was searching the Internet when I came across your informative and attractive website devoted to your practice. I know in today’s world everyone wants a knowledgeable dentist handling their oral health, and I can see you are just that. It is also clear from your site, that you have your patient’s best interest at heart."

I chose the design to reflect the elegant look and feel of the office. Research seems to show that fewer links across the top are more effective than left or right margin links, so I chose this design.

We added an Animoto slideshow to add interest by putting photos to music. In the future, we are going to feature before and after photos of cosmetic cases.
