Describe your website.

I represent 15 family-run wineries, that span almost the entire wine map of Italy. Jo Cooke Wine Selections offers their wines to markets all over the world. I come from a journalistic background, having worked for Wine Spectator for ten years and aim to combine this experience and my knowledge of Italian wine in order to encourage importers to buy wines from the producers included in my list.

Who is the target audience for your website?

Most importantly, prospective wine buyers all over the world, but also lovers of Italian wine and culture.

What is the advantage of your website over others?

I have a thorough knowledge of Italian wine, as well as intimate contact with both major and minor forces in the wine import trade. Visitors to the site seek information about the producers and their wines. I am currently building up a wine tourism extension to the business, which will allow me to pass on my knowledge and enthusiasm for Italian wine first-hand.

Tell us a story about this website.

I think I now have to re-do all my photos, to optimize them for retina displays. Ouch!! does it ever end? Answer = "No"

Why did you use this Sandvox design?

Classical elegance, suitable for my type of business. I aim to attract visitors from all over the globe, so I needed a kind of neutral , but modern look.

What techniques did you use to build this website?

I enjoyed making three sites, including a WordPress Blog all fit seemlessly into a single-site feel. I enjoyed creating slideshows, especially on the www.jocookewineselections.com part of the site. Linking to facebook, Twitter etc. is an essential part of the site and I'm starting to get my head round it all.
