Describe your website.

My website is designed to showcase Howie's Handyman Services in Yarraville and Melbourne Metropolitan suburbs. My goal was to attract customers to the vast array of handyman services offered and entice people with pensioner discounts for handyman services, not to mention the quality workmanship and guarantee for all work!! The aim is to provide home and property maintenance including unique solutions that allows people to live comfortably whilst maintaining the value of their property.

Who is the target audience for your website?

The target audience is predominantly towards the Melbourne geographical area and specifically toward those people whom are 'time-poor' or indeed 'too frail' to maintain their home themselves. We are especially interested in providing very reasonable rates (that is great discounts!) to those of the veteran community - veteran as in past or present war heroes or incapacitated persons - not as in age... as both my husband and I are both Ex-Navy

What is the advantage of your website over others?

After doing a fair amount of research and receiving a bit of feed back; I believe my website has many advantages over some of our competitors as it is clean and has all the information it needs - not to mention that if a change is required - it can be done and published immediately! One of my friends in business with his own website, has to advise someone of his requirements and sometime have to wait up to 48 hours for a change to be published - not good in the business world if a mistake has been made!!

Tell us a story about this website.

Making this website has gotten me a great comment here and there - with many people asking me how much I paid for it to be done and who did it for me?
They still can't believe that i did it in such a short space of time and that I have a great deal of control over it and that it can be published immediately! I have been able to solve many challenges building this site and must admit that I've learn quite a bit about HTML and COntact forms...

Why did you use this Sandvox design?

I chose the design that I am using now mainly due to the colours (wood and handyman) and how clean and stylish it looked.

What techniques did you use to build this website?

Some tricks I have learnt whilst building my site are Inserting a table was achieved by searching the internet and finding free code to copy and paste. Google analytics was quite a challenge however between my research and the support from Karelia I managed to figure out how to track a goal conversion from the COntact Form - don't know what this means?? Niether did I until a few days ago... sorry the tip is too long winded to put here but i did email it back to Karelia support to maybe put it somewhere.
