Describe your website.
Our website is designed to promote our garden and landscaping business, to attract customers that are looking for garden design and maintenance providers for their terraces, backyards and balconies. We also build decks, outdoor kitchens, lay stone and pavers, and plant seasonal flowers.
Who is the target audience for your website?
Our target client lives in New York City and has an outdoor space such as a balcony, rooftop, backyard, or terrace that they would like to renovate or to install an automatic irrigation system. They are of a higher income bracket as outdoor space comes at a premium in New York.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
Our website offers extensive information about who we are and the services offered. But most importantly, we have pages and pages of beautiful photographs of our projects and this is an ideal way to communicate who we are and what we do. A picture is worth more than a thousand words!
Tell us a story about this website.
Our previous website was created using Adobe Flash and could not be viewed on any mobile device. We noticed an immediate increase in overall users within a week of publishing. The majority of these users were in fact, using mobile devices. We knew we were missing clients but did not appreciate the extent to which we were until we published our new Sandvox site.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
By far the majority of our current clients came to us via the Internet and nearly 100% told us that it was because of the beautiful photographs of our work. So, we knew we needed a site that was specifically tailored to showing photography. We used Krypton for Sandvox as it was designed specifically for showcasing photography. We could not be happier with our choice!
What techniques did you use to build this website?
We wanted to incorporate and reinforce our logo directly into our communication of our services. We could not figure out how to do it directly in the software, so we used Keynote for Mac to create .jpg files that have a very custom feel and look to them that conforms more directly to our printed material like catalogues, postcards, and business cards. Then we simply treated these .jpg files like photographs and used them all over the site!
