What kind of websites were you planning to build?

After closing my metaphysical rock shop, we limped along with a website that was not a fit for the platform we were looking for. We wanted to bring an entire community together with one website. We wanted the rock community, not just the metaphysical community, or lapidary community, rock hound community, jewelry artisans, collectors, miners and people that just love rocks.
Our plan was to create a hub with forums, blogs, news that people want, fun things to do on the web and lots of information on rocks. Whether that information was mineral content, polishing personality or metaphysical properties and folklore of the stones, we wanted to offer something for every rock lover.
With little knowledge on how to build a website, other than drag and drop programs, this was a daunting task. I had been using a MacBook Pro for about a year, starting to get cocky with the performance of this machine and decided it was time for it to earn its keep. I started researching.

How did you hear about Sandvox?

I saw that Sandvox was THE program to work with on a Mac. Nothing else really came up in the Google search. I went for the free download and 'messed around' for about an hour and decided it was time to put my money where mouth has been and give this community a place to grow.

What made you decide to get Sandvox?

The drag and drop features allowed me to set a good foundation while learning simple html techniques to dress up our pages with simple elegance that loads easily. The online instructions on how to do absolutely everything with this program are simple, easy for someone who isn't a web designer to follow, and they are actually useful. Being able to access my website for simple updates without being connected to a network to online is a big plus for me.
I also liked that Sandvox was made to work for a Mac, I have used several programs that don't allow the Mac to maximize its potential as the awesome machine that it is, Sandvox shows this off quite nicely.

Now that you have Sandvox, what do you like about it?

Wow! I can change all of my layout. Even the templates are easy to change around to make them exactly what I want. Photos, videos, blogs, they are all super easy with this software. The support on the Sandvox website is actually very good, and useful. The whole experience of completely a very intimidating project was made simple with the help of Sandvox.
I not only have put several hundred hours into building this site, with the help of Sandvox, I enjoyed every minute of those hours. Sandvox just works. It does what I want, when I want, how I want. Isn't that what software is supposed to do?

What would be a good way to search for a program like Sandvox?

“Joshua and I had just closed down my rock shop. I was pretty devastated and also in need of some income. We planned a class on crystal grids. The day before the class, we went in to set up the room, with stones for sale, the book we printed on an antique HP laptop, ( that later said it's farewell...”
