Describe your website.

The Junior Aid Society website lists upcoming events that raise money for women and children's charities on Boston's North Shore, shows the charities we support and provides a grant application for those charities to apply for funds each year. It also provides information on membership and a form for visitors to download if they are interested in finding out more about us.

Who is the target audience for your website?

Our website hopes to reach residents of Boston's North Shore (Marblehead, Swampscott, Salem, Lynn, Beverly and Peabody) so that they can find out about our events, join us at those events or donate funds to help us support women's and children's charities on Boston's North Shore.

Tell us a story about this website.

Our website has been the best way for The Junior Aid Society to promote our charitable events and has made it very easy for people to donate or purchase tickets to these events. We have an annual 5K race that will happen again in May of 2010 and by October of 2009 people were already registering for the event. It makes us feel great to see people finding us and participating in the events we offer as all the money we raise goes directly to the women and children's charities we support. And as we all know the need now is greater than ever before.

Why did you use this Sandvox design?

The sandvox designs are so fantastic it was very hard to choose actually. The one we ended up using has a color palette that works with our logo and a banner and menu bar that works with the pages we wanted to list.

What techniques did you use to build this website?

I love the photo grid pages. They really help define events and allow you to have both photos and artwork in the listing. The are very easily manipulated and if someone wants to share a photo they can be updated endlessly. Very fun.
