Sandvox features used for this site:Blog, Photo Grid, Site Map, Contact Form, YouTube, QuickTime Audio/Video, Other Objects, Editing HTML of text, Raw HTML Object, Google Integration

Describe your website.
We initially set up our website as part of the launch of our new CD Album. But we now use it to publish news and photos (and sometimes videos) about what we are doing. We have also added a calendar of events which we update regularly with our activities.
Who is the target audience for your website?
Our website is aimed at those interested in choirs and particularly church music. We are based in Co Kildare, Ireland and range in age from teenagers to grandparents.
Tell us a story about this website.
Our website was initially set up to promote a CD we launched. So we put up a little background info on the choir along with some photos.
But then we kept getting asked if people could buy our CD online. So, while waiting for iTunes, we quickly added a PayPal link and sold our first online copy - much to our delight !
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
The background / banner is perfect for us as it is of the inside of a church or cathedral. This was what first attracted us to the design.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
Two interesting things we did related to our CD. The first was to drop some audio clips (iTunes style) onto the page using the media browser, the second was to add online ordering with PayPal by dropping some raw HTML generated by PayPal onto the page. Both work amazingly well.
In another area of the site, we wanted to provide a Calendar of Events. Rather than create static content, we dropped code from Google Calendar as Raw HTML into the page, suitably edited so that the size would match. We now have a facility that wherever we are we can add entries to Google Calendar and they appear instantly on the site - without having to modify and upload content to the site. (I've even done it from my iPhone at a choir practice knowing the website is updated in real time). Really cool.
