Describe your website.
The goal of the site is to research and preserve the history of the G-159 aircraft. New content and images are updated on a daily basis. There were 200 G-159 built over a period of 10 years (1959 - 1969). All 200 airframes are represented with each its own page. There are numerous other pages detailing the history of this unique aircraft.
Who is the target audience for your website?
I decided from the initial planning of this site that it would be free with no ads. I want this site to appeal to not only past G-159 pilots and technicians but also to the current generation of pilots who fly computer based aircraft. The G-159 has no computers and it is strictly up to the pilot to operate it properly. I have tried to make it interesting to pilots as well as non-pilots.
Tell us a story about this website.
I have actually made a lot of new friends who correspond with me on a weekly basis. They have in turn, notified other past G1 pilots and mechanics who have stated it is about time this aircraft is represented properly.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
I believe the theme I chose is pleasing to the eye and enabled the most amount of information per page along with the numerous images.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
I am a novice at building websites. The great thing about Sandvox is a beginner can use it as well as a professional.
