Describe your website.

The website is designed to give radio listeners the opportunity to see video of the commercials that are discussed in each episode. In addition, listeners can visit the site to subscribe to a free podcast of each week's episodes. If they'd like to listen to episodes that were broadcast at any time during the past decade of The Ad Guy, the site offers an audio archive. And listeners can also subscribe to free weekly emails of Ad-Proofing Tips, which offer advice on how to avoid being manipulated by advertising.

Who is the target audience for your website?

The main audience is CBC Radio listeners (who live mostly in Canada). However, the site is also aimed at teachers, parents, students and policy makers who would like to learn more about how we're manipulated by advertising. If any of these groups are interested in booking a speaking engagement with Bruce Chambers, they can use the site to contact him.

What is the advantage of your website over others?

While other sites may provide an insider's look into advertising, most of them view it in a very positive light as an art form or pop culture. However, The Ad Guy deconstructs ads, explains the techniques used and exposes the manipulation, hypocrisy and half-truths. With billions of dollars worth of ads promoting products and the culture of consumption, theadguy.ca provides a clear dissenting voice.

Why did you use this Sandvox design?

I wanted a clean, simple design that came as close as possible to the iWeb design I'd been using for the previous year.
