Describe your website.

This website describes my research group in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota. It contains descriptions of our current research interests in the structure and dynamics of confined semiflexible chains, DNA electrophoresis in microfabricated devices, modeling single stranded DNA, polyelectrolyte adsorption in flow, nucleoid structure and dynamics in E. coli, and mechanical properties of basement membrane. There is a list of my papers in press, recent publications, and a useful review paper.

Who is the target audience for your website?

The audience for this website is researchers in my field of DNA, polymer physics, microfluidics, microfabrication, and biophysics. The website is also useful for prospective graduate students in chemical engineering who are interested in studying at the University of Minnesota and for undergraduate students in chemical engineering and materials science who are looking for a research experience.

What is the advantage of your website over others?

My website is a complete description of our research interests. It includes a listing of the publications by year and the publications sorted by research topic.

Why did you use this Sandvox design?

I have always liked website designs with the color blue, so it was easy to choose the Rounded Blue design. The other design that was appealing was Cirrus, but I preferred to have the text boxes on the right-hand side of the page.

What techniques did you use to build this website?

I used standard features.

Professor Kevin D. Dorfman, Chemical Engineering and Materials S
