Describe your website.
Our website is a resource for existing customers to find out what's new in stock, seasonal hours, upcoming events, as well as search what's cookin' for recipes and check out blog entries for reviews of hot stuff, BBQ and beer. Customers from around the world order gift baskets through our website. We also use it as a marketing tool to attract new customers with directions to our store, links to suppliers' websites, and links to our own social media sites.
Who is the target audience for your website?
Our target audience includes cooks and foodies of every walk of life in our region who are interested in hot sauce, barbecue sauce, gourmet foods, and specialty ingredients.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
Our website is fun and informative in keeping with the tone and look of our brick-and-mortar store. We include a lot of detail and resource information about products we carry so it provides potential customers with a clear picture of our business. We keep it fresh every month by adding recipes, reviews, photos, and seasonal information so customers can check back often and will always find the resources they need for using our products.
Tell us a story about this website.
Recently a gentleman came into our store to purchase hot sauce. He had been surfing the web for specialty stores in our area and came across our hot sauce blog which offers reviews and product descriptions. Besides our location and store hours, he was also able to find lots of great information and links. That was why he chose our store over a competitor in the area.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
We chose our particular Sandvox design because it has a similar feel to our old website, but offers all the features we want like blogs, links to social media, photo galleries, and Youtube videos. We were able to customize the design with our own images and photos which gives it a look unique to our business.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
By inserting raw HTML, we included a splashy looking link to a partner's website in our sidebar. On another page, we included a Google doc with by inserting raw HTML into the page body so that customers can fill out an order form right from our website. Many of our business partners offer HTML code so that we can add professional looking buttons and links anywhere in our website.
