Describe your website.
As family farms have given way to factory farms, and small industry has moved elsewhere, many of the small towns in North Dakota have gotten smaller, and some are facing a threat to their identity. NODAKinfo seeks to preserve the history of these communities, and to provide a place where those who have moved away can come home, if only in the virtual world.
Who is the target audience for your website?
Natives of Batesville or Roseglen Township who have had to move away will be interested in reading the history of their hometown, of early businesses, churches, organizations, and sports teams, and reminiscences of some of the early settlers or families whom they are likely related to.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
I don't believe that there is another site online that offers the depth of information that is available here.
Tell us a story about this website.
Much of the information featured on my site came from the Golden Jubilee book, but since I put it online, I have received corrections and additional information from residents and former residents of Roseglen Township.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
I don't normally choose a dark background when I am building a website but, in this case, it worked well with the image that I wanted to use.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
I believe that it is an attractive website, but I didn't use anything particularly clever or tricky to achieve it. This is pretty much what can be done with Sandvox.
