123readandwrite.com is designed to help parents and children work together to improve the child's reading and writing skills. In grammar corner, there are explanations and activities to improve a child's grammar and writing mechanics. Within the reading comprehension quizzes section, a child is able to engage in activities regarding highly respected children's literature; and allows them to take a comprehension quiz (created by me) to see their success rate, regarding the book. The educational articles page is a blog which incorporates researched topics regarding reading and writing skills and how to improve upon them. The trending section is in blog format and has written articles on hot topics in the educational realm. Finally, the iwrite freelance page offers my services as a freelance writer and as a tutor.
Who is the target audience for your website?
Parents of children who love to read and write; and anybody, young and old, who want to foster the love of reading and writing. It's also geared for anybody who is need of English and Language Arts tutoring; or who is in need of freelance writing.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
To begin, I've been an English teacher for going on 20 years. I have a great deal of knowledge regarding reading and writing. Additionally, having a Master's degree in education; and being a published author in various realms gives me an advantage over many other educational sites.
Tell us a story about this website.
This website will be useful for my future students when they are in need of additional instructions, tutoring, etc. My youngest daughter also loves to take my quizzes!
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
The template feels very fresh and free. I like the blue hues.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
I'm just beginning to get the hang of the raw html; and I'm having a blast incorporating the amazon links on the books I have chosen.
