Patricia Hall Borow used Sandvox to build this website. She chose the “Smooth Dark” design for the site. People may want to visit the site if they are looking for Atlanta artists, Atlanta painters, Bad Patti's Art 'n' Everythin.
Sandvox features used for this site:Blog, Photo Grid, Contact Form
Describe your website.
The content is a representation of who I am and what I do. I'm a writer as well as a visual and olfactory artist, hence the blog. I want to showcase new work and also feature older work and things I'm working on. My goal is to have a dynamic site that people will visit more than once.
Who is the target audience for your website?
Art buyers, galleries, art consultants, curators, painting and drawing fans, perfumers, olfactory artists and readers of my old "Olfactarama" blog
What is the advantage of your website over others?
The descriptions, captions, artist's statements, other text and the blog are written in English, not ArtSpeak, which is incomprehensible to almost everyone.
Tell us a story about this website.
I can't tell you anything yet. I'm still fine-tuning the site and it has only been up for a couple of days.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
I wanted a template that would function as background to the work. Since artwork is best displayed on a screen that is a neutral dark gray, I was looking for that and found it in the free templates.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
It was suggested by Sandvox that I build an index item on the home page that would link to the blog, therefore making the site appear more dynamic to the search engines. A great idea!
I used Adobe Photoshop Elements to resize some of the images and save them for the web. I wanted to make sure that they would "read" well.
