Describe your website.
This is the website for the Summit Biking Group, a road biking club in Summit County Colorado. Sections included cover weekly Group Rides and activities, favorite local Area Road Rides with route maps, descriptions and elevation profiles, merchandise such as club jerseys, membership information, road cycling safety, club news and calendar, etc.
Who is the target audience for your website?
Our target audience is Summit Biking Group members as well as visitors to Summit County, Colorado interested in road biking.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
There are no competitors that we could find, which is why we developed the information and built the site.
Every other site we found had bits and pieces of some of what our site provides. Our goal was to build the definitive site for anyone interested in road biking in Summit County.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
The design was clean and attractive, allowing us to use a banner of our choice, without detracting from or overwhelming the content.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
The site uses the Sandvox Pro features to make extensive use of embedded interactive Google Maps for biking routes, an embedded Google Calendar for Group Rides and Activities, and a "page within a page" external page to pull in a blogger.com blog. We decided to use blogger.com for our blog rather than Sandvox because it allowed all club officers to easily post to our "bulletin board" without having to go to the site developer to copy over every entry and re-publish the site.
