Describe your website.

mytraditionalneighborhoodhome.com is my latest site, and it's a mash-up of traditional neighborhoods old and new, and the realtors most knowledgeable about selling there. The Neighborhoods are listed in their own collection, as are the Realtors. Who We Are tells about who is behind the site, and Get Listed describes how to get on the site.

Who is the target audience for your website?

This site is built to appeal to anyone interested in buying or building a home in a traditional neighborhood… you know, those places that are compact, mixed-use, and walkable, and where you can make a living where you're living and also walk to the grocery store.

What is the advantage of your website over others?

This site is unique because nobody else has yet done a mash-up like this. Actually, it's a double mash-up. The obvious one is putting the realtors and the neighborhoods together. But it also puts new traditional neighborhoods together with old ones that may have been there a century or more, highlighting the ways in which New Urbanist places are like the old places we've loved the most and valued the longest.

Tell us a story about this website.

I showed this site to Andrés Duany, who is the "rock star of planning" and a founder of the New Urbanism. Andrés said "This is brilliant! It should have been done five ages ago!" Andrés also said "I want all of the neighborhoods and new towns I've designed listed on this site."

Why did you use this Sandvox design?

Clean Sheets is so cool because it sits there in the background and lets you build what you want on top of it without imposing a predetermined graphic look.

What techniques did you use to build this website?

This site uses does many of the cool things I did on originalgreen.org, and like mouzon.com, Sandvox's really clever collections let me easily organize the site so that it's easy to find what you're looking for.
