What kind of websites were you planning to build?
I started a personal website with a blog for my views on a lot of subjects ranging from homeschooling and pets to chronic illness and politics. I also wanted a place to post photo albums as an amateur photographer.
How did you hear about Sandvox?
My husband sent me a link to a Cult of Mac dated review of possible iWeb replacements, June 17, 2011; it's on http://www.cultofmac.com/three-popular-applications-that-can-replace-iweb-one-to-take-you-to-the-next-level/101080.
What made you decide to get Sandvox?
I checked out each of the programs reviewed on Cult of Mac. Sandvox had the features I was looking for, like comments, raw html boxes flowing with text, and the ability to include a side column on every page. Plus it looked like it would be easy to use.
Now that you have Sandvox, what do you like about it?
Sandvox is easy to update and quick to publish. You can also mark a page as a draft if you want to publish but a page isn't ready. The Call out feature is kind of fun, too, producing highlights for a photo that coordinates with the sidebar.

“Because I wanted to include a lot of photos, I picked "Outside the Lines", a design that did not use a lot of graphics but had a whimsical flavor to it. I then edited it to change the fonts and colors to something that was more the style I wanted, overall making it a little softer.”
