Sandvox Website Profile: “Amarel - It means "The message, or word, of God".”

One of the main goals of the site is to challenge people to think deeply and differently about "religion:" I want people to know the truth. There are some serious Bible errors most people have no idea exist. I'm trying to correct some of those errors. I provide some key definitions of terms that are essential for a deeper understanding of Scripture. The personal name of God has been taken out of most translations. The Lord is a title, not a name. Jehovah is wrong from the start. The personal name of The Messiah is not what most people think it is. The titles of the Messiah are sometimes confusing. A relationship is far more important than having a "religion".

The site includes a variety of topics including such things as abortion, adultery, alcohol, angels, anger, courage, deception, divorce, feasts of Israel, etc. The site map lists all the topics and pages.

My goal is to help people avoid being deceived by revealing as much truth as possible. The site provides references for anyone to check out the topics or issues for themselves.

There's nothing for sale on the site, so there's not a commercial push. Everything on the site is free, to be used as people may want to use it. It's aimed at people who are looking for truth and answers to issues in a confusing and frustrating world. People interested in serious Bible study should find some very interesting topics on the site. It's also aimed at those who have trouble locating good teaching in local churches. There's some real "meat" on the site, and not the traditional "pablum".

While it's not a business site, it does offer some truths not typically found on most religious websites. There are some real challenges to "the traditions of men", and the resulting errors, especially in Scripture itself. It's also a lot less cluttered than many similar sites so people can find their way around easily and quickly.

Some of the new material on the site was triggered by a recent national news report that featured someone that is not from a Christian tradition. He referred to "God" without clarifying what god he was talking about. The God of Scripture, YAHWEH, is the God I serve. The piece triggered an interesting in being more specific about what I mean when I speak of "God". The term has become too generic in meaning in today's world. I saw a need to educate others to this need as a result of that program.

I chose the current design I'm using because if offered several advantages to my previous layout. The key issue was a wider layout so more information could be displayed across the visible portion of the main page (and the others as well). Also, I liked the color choices with the new layout. The one I chose seemed to fit my website better than what I had been using. It also gave my some flexibility options for layout that were limited in the old design. I'm still exploring additions to the site layout now that I have the new one up and working. I've only had access to the new design for about 2 months. Since I have limited design experience and capabilities it takes me a while to figure out how to use some of the options.

Since I'm such a novice at all this my main features use a few photos and a lot of text pagelets as callouts. I like the ability to add a border to the callouts to help them stand out more. I tried to add more internal links to the home page and shorten the topic areas in order to get more topics on the top of the page that were linked to more information. I've used both drag and drop and cut and paste techniques as my main page creation processes. It's pretty unsophisticated, but it works for me.
